Places to Visit in Northern Florida

My dad and I are planning a trip from South Carolina down the intracoastal this summer (late July early august) and would like to know places you would recommend stopping along the way....nice towns, good beaches, historic landmarks, anything worth seeing! We cruise at around 35mph, so we cover a lot of ground...all suggestions appreciated!

Boat registration question

I am considering buying a little 10' Bass Raider (mini pontoon) and putting a trolling motor on it for when I want to fish by myself and not take the big boat out. I have heard differing opinions on whether I have to register it or not. I am in Florida and will mainly be using it in the river and creeks. If I put a trolling motor on it must I register it?

I have just purchased a Cabo Rico 38 that is laying in Bradenton I have to remove it by Nov. 19, and the grand plan is to take it to The Bahamas via Key West. I am totally unfamiliar with Florida waters, and would appreciate all suggestions. I am planning an early Nov. departure.

Clay County 4th of July

Gave out a lot of boating violations for almost anything they could find. were
pulling over boats for causing wakes and it was so dark you could'nt even see where you were going to go. pulled the boat in front of me for having a spotlight shining. Top it off the tickets said 65.00 but mailed it in, later received my check back with a letter saying boating violations as of july 1st
went to 90.00. Will not have to worry about my boat being in clay county florida again. would not spend another dime in that county

Retirement Locations For Sailor

I will be retiring in Forida next year but do not have any ideas of where to look for great sailing. I currently race/cruise my Catalina320 on the great lakes. I am not even sure if I should be looking on the east or west coast.
Any suggestions?

Hello, I am new to the group. I know will I come across as ridiculous, but I would like some honest answers:

I am an avid snorkeler and scuba diver, and love the sea. I will be moving with my wife and baby to the Fort Myers area and have a dream. Although, I have never owned a boat, nor have a license, I want to buy a boat, become licensed and open a little tourism company that gives tours of the local islands, takes people fishing, and if possible, snorkeling and scuba diving.

My question: Am I completely insane? Does a person with no boating experience have a chance at something like this?

How much money will it cost to get started?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
